Description W1652 FACTORY ENGRAVED WINCHESTER MODEL 1895 RIFLE IN 38-72 WCF; 24 inch octagon barrel chambered in 38-72 WCF caliber. Bore is a little dark and may clean up. Sights include a German silver blade front and sporting rear. Barrel is grey with some discoloration from the action to the end of the forearm. Engraving is Winchester style 6 scroll. Still visible but receiver has quite a bit of wear. Receiver is mostly a grey color as well as the lever and magazine. Walnut buttstock is in good overall condition with a crescent butt plate. The forearm looks good but likely is a replacement. A pretty early Model 1895 rifle in the 26k serial range. The gun letters with $2 engraving and the 24 inch barrel. Engraved 1895 rifles are hard to find as well as one with an octagon barrel. MODERN $ 6,750.
