Description W3815 SPORTERIZED WINCHESTER LOW WALL MODEL 1885 WINDER MUSKET; 28 inch round barrel in 22 Short caliber with a bright shiny excellent bore. Blade front sight and peep mounted Lyman receiver sight. Barrel shows most original thinning blue. Receiver shows 80% original blue finish. All other metal parts also have a high percentage of original blue. Mechanically excellent. Near excellent solid wood shows some nice curly figure in the grain. Forearm wood has been shortened providing all the benefits of a musket but with lighter weight for easier handling. Buttstock has custom checkering at the wrist area. Steel buttplate. Sling swivels. This gun dates to the World War I era and has the correct US and Flaming Bomb markings as well as the correct lightweight hammer. Should be a great shooter! MODERN $ 1,495.
